Single stage snowblower

Picked up a couple snowblowers a couple weeks ago. 2 for $100. Not in great shape. In fact the auger was thrashed. Using some tips from here set to work. Not show quality but hopefully flings snow.

Handy Don

Looks much improved. Getting the rust off will make the snow stick a lot less.

@aemsee, nice save on that ! when you pit that together , put the same detail in your lubrication function . the auger chain drive gear , should use a specific open gear / chain drive lubricant . that will stay with it, another area often neglected is the belt tension spring frame , if its grease lubed , it will follow the spring tension better , helping your drive speed . also detail lube the blower chute base , makes it swing with ease. use a teflon based auger spray , as well as inside chute area . after use I always touch up the lubricants , never letting them dry out , amazing how easily that auger spins up , when its spinning on oil , just my own experience , good snow throwing ! pete
