Wheelhorse#1 1,667 #1 Posted September 5, 2021 Have the opportunity to pick up this 73 WH12 hydro drive for 300 runs decent.Deck needs work but works. Are these particularly desirable, worth the price ?
ebinmaine 67,598 #2 Posted September 5, 2021 In my area ANYTHING that runs drives and cuts grass is worth 300 to 500. Give the hydro a good workout and test it. If the transmission is strong it's worth that all day. If the transmission fails the test it's worth 200 at the least just as a parts rig. The engine alone should fetch 2 bills if it runs well.

pfrederi 17,741 #4 Posted September 5, 2021 Get it warmed up then put it up against an immovable object and see if she will spin the rear wheels.

If it passes that and then you find out it is not strong in reverse it will most likely be an acceleration valve issue which is not a major issue. As long as it is strong on one direction you can be pretty assured you don't have major wear on slippers or valve plates...They be the difficult fixes... 3
