Flip scrapper blade

Recommended Posts

The scrapper blade on my 312-8's plow is worn on the outside corners from years of my father plowing the driveway.  The top edge is still original.  Can it be flipped over?

Absolutely !!  In fact, I just happen to be doing that to my snow blade on my 857.  Rather then mess with the old rusted bolts, I used a 4" grinder and made quick work of those old bolts.  I also am changing from carriage bolts, I am using 1" X 3/8" stove bolts (they have a slot screw driver head) and Ny=Loc nuts.  Orientate the scalp blade so the worn angle is high against the snow blade...or grind the sharp edge smooth.  I'll take some pictures.  :USA:

I flipped mine over a few years ago when I noticed how worn it was getting.Used my 1/2 inch impact and zipped off the nuts. The carriage bolts didn't spin at all so reused all the original fasteners.

I should mention it was a 520H dozer blade.

Thanks all.  The WH is not used for plowing snow, but I do need to move topsoil.

Mine was rusty like yours.  It would not let the snow go when pushing it.  I used a 4" grinder with a wire wheel, cleaned off the rust, primed with Rust Oleum red primer.  I used a 3" roller and Regal Red in a qt can along with a brush to paint.  Painted the scraper flat black a flipped over.  Pictures...
