snow thrower auger bends

Recommended Posts

peter lena

found that , 2  , 12 "  adjustable wrenches working on the same auger bend issue , in opposed  directions , right on top of each other , deliver a very good easy result to a bend . just taking little bites on the area , increases your mechanical advantage . bouncing a hammer off of it is not  good for any part of it . also using a specific chain lubricant on the auger drive , makes it work much easier , should be able to spin it up by hand at the belt mount area . just my own experience, pete

@grinchsr , living in CT  you know how it goes , before you know it , morning frost , leaves , and the transition from mowing to plowing / blowing . with the weather changing , more plowing than blowing . never too soon to keep in touch with your stuff , as soon as it tells you something , get it done , pete
