Rod or the balance gears are ready to exit the confines of the block. DO NOT RUN ANYMORE!

:text-yeahthat:      The few hours it will take you to unbolt the block from the oil pan will probably save you a bunch of money and heartache.

Well I pulled the crank and piston out.I haven’t measured anything yet waiting on a couple things.

doesn’t look to bad I guess won’t know for sure till I measure the bore and crank. The other side of the piston looks the same.

what do you think ?

So, was the rod to pin gap too large? Excess crank play? Wondering still on the source of the knock. That piston looks like the engine starved for oil at one time. Not sure about the bore or rings. Almost looks like it's a bore job...

I want to see the bearing surface of the rod. Looks like it was just starting to wipe itself on the crank.

That piston scoring is bad. That lower part of the cylinder will destroy a new piston in short order without boring.

That piston and crank look .... ?? I've seen that several times when the engine overheated - low or dirty oil, excess chaff build up in fins, missing fins?, etc. Whatever, some close measurements need to be done ... definitely do not run it with out finding out.

Don't think I would use that piston for anything but a paperweight.
