peter lena 8,587 #1 Posted August 29, 2021 did a lawn cut yesterday, highest setting , constantly crisscrossing previous cuts , after rain last night , loaded 200 lb on my lawn spiker , with a softer lawn , it really responds to more holes in it , and the birds following me , eating all the worms ! something i regularly do , with a lighter weight just to break up any grass build up . other checks include , trans oil check , ok , top up fuel with ,STABIL gas treatment , did a quick polish wipe down , back in shed , oil check ok . ready for next cutting . pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

lynnmor 7,302 #8 Posted August 30, 2021 I was given a spike aerator and it turned out to be an expensive waste. I bought and waited several months for one spike, two wheels and some spacers. So I sandblasted as needed followed by painting. Then I assembled the thing with a white tire on one side and a black one on the other, the spike wheel was of a different design. Once assembled, there is no way to hook to the low drawbar of a Wheelhorse, so I still need to fabricate a tongue for the stupid thing.
