I assume you raise it to drain both times ( current lube and diesel). How much diesel, 2qt? I was reading the manual. It appears the oil is sae 30 if over 32f so I plan to run rotella straight 30. As for rear end, will run straight 90. The drivers side seal looks wet to me so will probably need to change it. Just use a slide hammer to remove the axle hub? Lee1977 6,659 #27 Posted September 3, 2021 (edited) There is only a C-clip holding the other end of the axle in so you can hammer the hub off. Has to be pulled off with the pressure on the end of the axle. If you check the forum there are quite a few home made designs that work well for hub pulling. You can try a normal gear puller, but if the hub does move you can also break the hub. So check out the options and don't get in a hurry to get the hub off and break it. You can’t go wrong with that!! As long as you grease the zerks and oil the tie rod ends, ( as well as any other moving part in it!) You will learn, do some studying on Wheel Horses. kpinnc 12,049 #32 Posted September 7, 2021 I would think running 30w in a manual transmission would cause any leak to get worse. 90w will cling to the gears and get pulled up to the smaller parts in the top of the tranny, and tolerate the shearing forces much better. Also skating a flat file over the keyway and where the set screws contact the axle after you get the hub off and key out will help protect the new seals during installation.
