Skipper 1,788 #1 Posted August 25, 2021 Anyone know of a good substitute for the 682739 deck roller for the 60", now they are NLA? Would hate to have to drill the axles off and put some skinny JD stuff on there
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #2 Posted August 25, 2021 68-2739 only shows up for the 1995 model 78390. 68-2730 shows for other years and more. Wonder if there was a change or a typo entered the system? Skipper 1,788 #3 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) Typical for me to fall on the one with a woopsi in it. Thanks Garry. That made life a lot easier Edited August 25, 2021 by Skipper
daveoman1966 3,745 #4 Posted August 25, 2021 How long is the anti-scalp roller you need? I have anywhere from about 4" wide to 12" wide..
Skipper 1,788 #5 Posted August 26, 2021 it's the side gauge wheels I need, but I might also be OK with a new set of the wide middle ones for the 60". Don't have the measurements for those on hand, but can take the deck off this weekend and measure.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #6 Posted August 26, 2021 Stens has a replacement and this is a Canadian dealer. I like the fact they most often have better descriptions.

The middle rollers are 2.5 inch diameter, and 7 3/4 inch long. Center pin (axle) is .640 inch. I assume you make them out of stock material. Could you custom make them? Lee1977 6,648 #8 Posted August 27, 2021 I put Dogwood rollers with brass bushing in each end on my 48" deck back about 1990 I have only had to replace two. That was because the shaft came loose and I backed over them with the deck.
daveoman1966 3,745 #9 Posted August 27, 2021 I have 4 anti-scalp roilers... 2 are 5" long and 2 are just over 11" long. All 4 are 3" diameter with 3/4" bore hole. The bore hole is wallowed out to about 1" at the ends of some. These are hard nylon and can be cut by any wood saw to desired length, of course.
Skipper 1,788 #10 Posted August 28, 2021 Thanks for the offer, but I will pass on it. The ones I have now are in better shape. I was hoping for some new ones, to do a full restoration of the deck. Found some new ones from Stens, that only need to be shaved off a little, and have a 5/8 shaft installed.
