Sorry I can't help with your question but it's good to see you back. Unless I've just missed it but I haven't seen you in a while. :)

Pictures would help.I can surely tell the difference between a 953/1054  and a GT-14 if I saw a pic.

The 953/1045 have a three speed transmission, stamped steel rear fenders that are a welded unit and the hood is attached with bolts. The GT-14 has a Sundstrand hydromantic transaxle,  rear fenders that are made up of multiple pieces and the hood is hinged with a latch at the front.

Go to our gallery section and you can pull up images of the 953, the 1054 and the GT-14.

Here is one of a '71 GT-14:

Late 60's GT-14 with a 3 point lift.

The opportunity to buy 953's,1054's and GT's doesn't come along often.  A lot of the time the 953 & 1054 are stripped of the hyd. lift.  In the pic above, the lever with the black nob is for the lift.  The PTO clutch & hub are specific to these tractors as well and a bit hard to find.  The more complete the better.  Good luck.

I’m sure @953 nut can correct me if I’m wrong, but that steering wheel looks like an early 953 wheel to me. :handgestures-thumbupright:

Yup early wheel. Most valuable piece on the whole tractor if it can be taken off with out breaking it.

It is located on the sides of the hood, but the serial number is a 1054.

A bearing splitter would be the proper tool for the job. If you don't have one a lot of auto parts stores will lend them out.
