42 side discharge issues.

So I just bought a 42 side discharge with hopes of putting it on my 310-8. I’ve already had a 42 rear discharge mounted on this machine but I can’t seem to get the side discharge to work. It mounts on normally but I can’t really adjust the height or raise it into transport position. I know the po had the deck apart at one time, maybe he reassembled it wrong? Idk. Anyways, here’s some pictures just in case y’all see something that I don’t.A35C99B3-E6D3-4568-901D-1C7EDDC9D583.jpeg.e204571f03138477b100a89be4c921dd.jpeg8E835F33-CB1D-409C-AF52-29F07A9DD2B9.jpeg.854d11311f7b46c6a3eadc5f258624b6.jpeg93C749BD-6F50-4514-809F-C1D902562450.jpeg.b0c53730416aa641a1b63e6201d527e6.jpeg

Nonetheless it still won’t “click” into transport position.

Take that washer off the leveling rod.  It's hitting the antiscalp wheel bracket.  The nut looks like it's cranked up too high.  The nose of the deck is down more than the recommend 1/4".  That could be stopping it from clicking into the transport position.

Is the fork on the attach-a-matic properly?

Raise the bolt in the slot on the front bracket so the rear end lifts earlier.    I have had to add bushings to some of my decks to get the rear to lift.

Well, I tried that, turns out it was just a bonehead error. I never took my snowblower “flag” off so that was wedging between the deck and the frame.

I think I see the blower lift assist spring now.      Wow, lucky you don't have hydraulic lift....that could have been ugly.

The level adjustment rod is attached in the wrong hole. It should be in the hole closer to the deck. Don't know why that orher hole is there. I have never got a deck to do right using that hole.

@Ifixoldjunk , two things stand out to me , is that you have not washerd up the mounting point any ware , when you firm up the engagement point , and lubricate it , it works much easier . use red aerosol spray grease on slide areas and penetrating oil on the lift adjustment area rack and rear axel swing points , should lift easily , pete
