71_Bronco 1,072 #1 Posted August 16, 2021 Past couple days, I've been getting the itch to just lock myself in the garage for a day and wrench on my WH, with some good tunes playing. Not quite sure why, maybe just a release to clear my head and relax a little (though working on these sometimes gives frustrations / anger when bolts wont move or something breaks lol). Am I the only one who gets the cravings? 5

Am I the only one who gets the cravings? No, I’ve got a list of things I want to do but no time to do them. I’ve been busy around the yard , in the process of putting up a swimming pool and still have 60 feet of privacy fence to do. Not to mention my car’s maintenance and all the other little things. The light is at the end of the tunnel though.

peter lena 8,634 #7 Posted August 16, 2021 @71-BRONCO , always have something going on in one of the sheds, prefer blues , since using my roller seat , to ride around my horses and look at the function and a , why not ? to change and improve something , there is always something to do . my own theory is to make any part of it bombproof. why not rid it of a nagging problem? with 3 in my herd , they are all set up the same way , with proven changes . so I am always experimenting . looking at any part of it , shows' its intent , its down to sloppy linkage fits , no lubrication , tight chafing wiring , fuel line set up , make anything run easier ,most successful with that one . between the correct grease , and a lubrication upgrade , I regularly marvel at the ease of function and how smooth and simple it operates. just my own experience , my oldest will be getting a cheese cake next year , for me to enjoy on its 40 th birthday . with strawberry's, pete
Stepney 2,325 #8 Posted August 17, 2021 Suppose I used to.. now working 14 hours a day monday/friday in an immensely hot and humid machine shop. while also doing automotive repair on the side the rest of the other days and on any spare time.. nah.. I dont. One battery between my 83 WorkHorse and the Case loader. Once every two weeks the WH mows the lawn and goes back to sit till next time.. If anything, I should be glad it's so eager to just work. The two 68's sit around till show time, and then return to their corners. About the only thing I've worked on at all for hobby time is a few antique table fans, and an old Weeden steamer. Simple and easy.

Trina and I have a serious tendency to maybe possibly overbook ourselves just a tad during the summer. This week is vacation. Next two weekends we're helping out at her sensei's place with an event. Labor day weekend is hiking. Then @JCM Jim's meet n greet in N Berwick Maine. maaaybeee after that we'll get to work on the truck. ... Then her Military Tribute Tractor will be completed so Trina can use it as a full time worker. ..... Theennnnn.... Maybe colossss. Something or other. Annnddd. Trina's pig pen tractor is up for a bit of maintenance and a repaint.
OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #10 Posted August 19, 2021 I get anxious to be busy with my hands. I have an office job. even though I've been telecommuting since March 2020, but it's screen work and meetings and calls. I long to get to the garage and wrenching... Summers are hard here in OK as it's really hot and humid and makes it miserable. Fall and winter are awesome. I find myself torn between the enjoyment of having a project I can chip away at and go to wrenching when the mood strikes... and rushing for the satisfaction of another saved machine ready to be put back to work! But then it changes to the search for the next project...and so the cycle of saving machines repeats itself....
