OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #1 Posted August 13, 2021 So I put a rockshaft kit on my 312-8 and the pivot piece bar is pushing out the seat fender mount supports.. So the holes don't line up that I can install all the bolts on the seat pan. Been messing with this for 2 hours...the fender mounts seem too stiff to be pressed in. Is there a trick to installing the seat pan after putting in a rockshaft kit?
daveoman1966 3,745 #2 Posted August 13, 2021 I don't think you have the BRASS BUSHING fully installed...inserted...into the support. That's why the holes in the fender pan don't line up.
OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #3 Posted August 13, 2021 they're flat against the fender wall. I removed paint to the point the bushings went in easy. I'm following the directions from wheelhorsepartsandmore where I got the kit. Mine isn't matching the diagram you have above.

The diagram (schematic) in my posting is for the 76-77 C-160 tractor, but it installs in the same way as yours does. Yours is likely to be similar to the one in the bottom pic. I can only suggest that you START the 2 bolts in the left side of the fender pan, the use a round phillips head screwdriver to poke thru on of the right side holes, and force it to alignment. Then start one of the bolts...pull out driver...then start the other bolt. Edited August 13, 2021 by daveoman1966
OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #5 Posted August 13, 2021 Thanks @daveoman1966 forcing it did work! The last bolt is a little crooked but it's tight and I can live with that. Thanks for the suggestion!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #6 Posted August 13, 2021 Manual states you can remove the shims and washers as necessary to fit.
obone 142 #7 Posted August 18, 2021 I bought one from him too. I had to remove a washer to get the seat mounts to line up.
