Retired Wrencher 5,465 #1 Posted August 13, 2021 Just enjoying the cool morning and the light hitting it just right. The camera never does it justice. I bought a $20.00 carb till I rebuild the original one. Works good so far. I had to drill out the choke lever and governor lever to get the cable and linkage thru. Also the air cleaner housing the drill and tap depth was way off so had to jury rig that for the housing to fit. Outer than that it works good no leaks . It is a good tractor now, as always fun to tinker with these old Iron tractors. Hope you enjoy the picks. 11

Of the B80s from 1974 to 1977: The 74 and 75 were Mid-frame length and 4 Speeds. The 76 and 77 were Long frames and 8 Speeds.

DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #9 Posted August 20, 2021 I did the same for a pressure washer and MTD mower that's been in storage for years and leaked the gas tank into the crank case. I've had great performance from replacements and for the cost it's not worth my time to rebuild. I keep the old ones around but don't see me getting to them anytime soon.

We've seen 3 cheap import carbs here and all 3 were trash from the get go. I'll not buy another (for a Kohler engine at least) due to them being so easy to rebuild. If you've got any older Kohler carbs kicking around that need a new home please let me know...
