I have a c101 8 speed. I am in Nc and you don't find many horses in this area. I have had some trouble with my local shop being able to cross reference belts and so forth. Is there an easier way to handle this?

Welcome to Red Square

What belts are you looking for?

A model number is required in most cases.

Mower deck models are often unknown but the same size and type of deck will use the same belts.

I see you're just south of Raleigh, so there are several folks on the forum that live near you. Plus, any questions you have- somebody here will have the answer. I didn't promise it would be the correct answer, but you'll likely have several to choose from!

In all seriousness, the folks here are great. Many of us have been playing with these tractors for decades.

Welcome to the forum! Post pictures if you can with your questions, because we like pictures!

It would be a great idea to familiarize yourself with the reference material that's here on Redsquare. There's nothing you're going to find and no situation you're going to get yourself into that one of us hasn't already encountered.

There's a magnifying glass at the top of the page which is your search mechanism. Type in two or three words and hit that. When the results come up look just below where you put those words in and there are more mechanisms such as PHRASE, AND, etc.

I find a very helpful to click on the word AND. I do so on a regular basis. That gives you the list of the threads that have ALL of the words you've used for your search.

Parts availability for these machines is excellent. Amongst ourselves a lot of us buy sell or trade back and forth by shipping parts.

There's also a list of site approved vendors in the Vendors Section.

Thanks Eric, you just saved my lazy brain a lot of time!  I'm still amazed that you do all you do here with just a phone. :text-thankyouyellow:

In addition to our excellent vendors, there's also a list of other online parts suppliers here:

MODS -- There's two threads here with the same title and author, can one of you guys combine them?  Thanks!

being able to cross reference belts

If someone at a shop can't cross reference a belt they probably shouldn't be working there!

As a blanket statement I agree with that however there are a lot of belts listed that are the CORRECT WIDTH AND LENGTH and because they have the WRONG ANGLE they won't work well on a Wheelhorse application.

Can't blame that on the parts person.....
