Handy Don 12,835 #1 Posted August 4, 2021 Has anyone re-mufflered an Onan P218 or P220 with anything other than the stock Nelson unit? Used ones in good shape have become kinda scarce and very pricey, and while I love the timbre it can be pretty loud for an extended session.

That is why I often encourage folks to glass bead the original and paint it, after it is full of holes there is a hard lesson to learn. Outside storage also is costly in the long term. Tuneup 1,433 #5 Posted August 5, 2021 Mine was shot when I got it. I'll cut-off the tubes at the muffler and will see if I can weld a couple on there. I have an H&F welder that needs to be played with and those old B&S mufflers are pretty cheap. That 520 is a winter project - two decks ahead of it.
