I use SeaFoam in non-ethanol gas the same way that you use Stabil, with the same results.

I treat my E-10 fuel with Sea Foam  for normal use.      I use a Sta-Bil Marine, 2 cycle oil, E-10 cocktail for long term storage of all engines.  4 stroke, 2 stroke, and marine outboards.

No fuel problems ever.

I used to use Stabil until I researched a little more. I 'm no longer an additive fan. You are going to get a HUGE debate on this if you search the forum. Although this guy is a goof and I don't wear fake teeth unless to embarass my daughter when she visits, this video and others pretty much show that simply keeping oxygen out of your fuel keeps it pretty well. The test he did was pretty informative.  I AM religious about using non-ethanol gas, because I have had experience with that gumming up fuel screens on small carbs WITH Stabil. . Other than that I circulate ten (10) 5 gallon fuel containers in my equipment/motorcycles. I have never had fuel less than 8 months old "go bad" (smell like varnish) ever. Why not save the money and try it and see for yourself? 

I should add that I drain the carbs and tanks of tractors or things like chainsaws if I don't know his long it will be until used again or I know it will be longer than 8 months.

This is his latest test video.  My thought is that he should halt the test now and pull the carburetor bowls.  I suspect that nearly all of them will have crud in them and those that did run may only be lucky enough to have the crud temporarily away from the jets.

Here's where he talks about that. I'm still thinking unless you are totally neglecting stuff and letting it sit full of fuel for over a year, just drain it and refuel and don't let old gas in a piece of equipment. Seems pretty simple. . .

I buy the 94 octane VP fuel in gallons at TSC for the tractors that run once in awhile and in the plow mules for summer storage.. Yes it's expensive. But I've had fuel turn in 6 months. I suppose I got a bad batch. But it's easy insurance. Also add Seafoam on an occasional tank. 

 

I've had Sta-Bil leave tiny pink crystals in carb bowls.

Ford says to use Star-Tron in their plug-in hybrids and specifically calls out Sta-Bil as a fuel stabilizer to not use because it can separate out. The "fuel freshness strategy" which shuts down EV mode and forces you to run the rest of the tank out runs an 18 month schedule, so they are looking at basically storing a tank of fuel for a year and a half.

Some have made their own using their MSDS, the ingredients are as follows:

 

40-60% Pail Oil: Diesel Fuel, Automatic transmission fluid, or a light motor oil.

25-35% Napatha

10-20% IPA AKA: Isopropyl Alcohol

 

If you can find a snake, add some of that.

should have said that I  only buy ethanol  fuel , nothing exotic , and sta-bil  has not let me down for any fuel build ups , realize  that others are finding it necessary to get a ethanol free fuel . for trouble free running , have not had that problem. just sta-bil has worked for me . no build up or debris any ware. run my stuff regularly, and rotate tractors to share the yard work. that is just works for me , pete

I run non E fuel can't remember the last time I had a WH carburetor apart. When I get one not running right I give it a dose of Star-Tron and the problem goes away. 

You can call it Snake Oil or what ever you like but it works for me. I like Star-Tron but I do have Sea Foam and Stabil. I left E gas in my vacuum for over a year and 

It wouldn't start, gave the carb a dose of It think I had Stabil let it set 30 minuets and it fired up. Smokes like crazy for a few minuets didn't have to take that one apart..

I also try that method on chain saws, weed eaters, and hedge trimmers but some times they have to come apart because of busted driframs.

VP fuels? Wow! I didn't even spoil the Suzuki, at Barber, on anything but 89 pump. I miss that machine (turn 5 did its damage). I wonder if the 516 would run better on VP. When we're done with this thread, how about a conversation on dino vs. synth, or Onan vs. Kohler, NGK vs Autolite? What a grand conversation could be had.

Drifting off topic here, but I had an event couple years ago that blew my mind!!

 

So I had a rear tine tiller that I hadnt used in some 8-9 years, just been sitting in the shed. One day my neighbor asked if I still had it and could he borrow it .... Okay, I go get it air the tires (they actually held air) get it to the shop and I tell him we gotta drain the old fuel ....  hes in a big rush -- and HARD headed and sez, naw I dont wanna mess with that, lets try it....... well OK go ahead -- cranked on the second pull, I bout fainted.

Working on a Ariens GT 20 for a friend.  The tanks is full of old fuel that still smells good.  I think it might be MTBE gas, not ethanol fuel.  Didn't try to run it on that gas.
