twiisted71 50 #1 Posted July 28, 2021 Ok fellow red riders, I need to put on some new tires for my C81. I'm using it in soft Oklahoma red dirt so I'm going with a set of Deestone 3 rib 4.00-8s to help with turning effort. The issue I'm running into is wheels. My spindles are 3.75" long to the C-clip groove and I can't find any of the 8x3.75" wheels for it. Miller is out of stock with no expected date. Anyone have a source for some of the narrow wheels? They usu run around $30-35/each new with bearings. Picture for attention--who doesn't like to look at'em!
ACman 7,618 #2 Posted July 28, 2021 (edited) You’ll have to remove tires and come up with a 3/4” spacer as through hub measurement is 3” . ‘Looks like your local TSC has them in stock. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/pneumatic-tire-diamond-tread-16-in-x-400-8?cm_vc=-10005 Edited July 28, 2021 by ACman
oliver2-44 9,759 #3 Posted July 28, 2021 Why don't you reuse the existing front wheels?
twiisted71 50 #4 Posted July 28, 2021 (edited) AC thanks I may have to go that route and see how long those junk tires will last Oli-44. My front wheels are silly wide, I'd say atleast 5". I think a set of narrow 3 rib tires would look like one of those road scraping ricers with their wheel sticking past their tires! factory fronts are 16-6.50-8s Edited July 28, 2021 by twiisted71
Pullstart 62,910 #5 Posted July 28, 2021 It seems they make a 6.5-8” tri rib too...

If you have soft soil, I would think that wider is better. Just too keep from cutting in when you turn. They are a bit spendy but might I suggest some Vredestein 5 rib tires. https://www.millertire.com/16x6-50-8-v61-hd-5-rib-170-60-8-implement-tire-6-ply/ Here is what they look like on the front of my 1045D 1
