Losing power with pto engaged

Recommended Posts

We have a 2002 522xi this just started today when mowing going uphill the engines Boggs down and will die but I can go uphill fine without pto on. If it’s a slight incline if I let up on gas it will kick back in full speed then it made a noise and completely died!

Sounds like the seat switch is not staying closed but not the only item that can cause this. I suspect the ignition is being turned off.

Very complicated electrical system but these diagrams will walk you through it.

Try over riding the MNIR (No mow in reverse) to see if that changes things.

Post your comments.

Sounds like it has no compression. Turning over too easy.

Yep no compression found some bits of aluminum in the oil ☹️ Someone had removed the oil sentry so when the oil came out while mowing it didn’t shut off!
