Have a clear gas line ,can see air pockets in the line when running.Runs like it’s missing after running awhile almost wants to shut off.312-8 If there was a hole/crack in the line wouldn’t it leak gas?I changed the in line gas filter but no change.Any ideas. Thanks in advance!

There is a strainer, part of the gas shut off valve at the bottom of the fuel tank.  This can get clogged.  The valve should pull out, you may need a new rubber grommet if the old one has dried out, otherwise it might leak when you reinstall the valve.  Just a thought.

They will suck air and not leak fuel out. This happens where the fuel line is pushed onto a nipple but is too hard to grab the nipple and seal the connection. New supple fuel line should fix it.

Your gas cap has a vent built into it. If the vent is not working a vacuum will develope in the fuel tank as gas is removed. Once the vacuum becomes greater than the ability of the fuel pump suction it is like running out of gas. Try running with the fuel evel a bit low and the cap not tightened.
