he had the 6 at the pgh vintage GP this past weekend

Beautiful!  That TR-3 has me 'pining for the fjords!"

And while I said earlier that I wasn't a big fan of the 6, that one is really nice.  Might make me change my mind!  I think it's the wheels...

the first gen CR's were a turning point for Honda - prior to this Honda had not produced a quality / serious dirt bike that could compete with the top European bikes

instantly that changed

but did not see many in our area - demand outstripped supply and apparently most went to the west coast

in our area it then became a sea of yellow - TMs ... especially TM-125s ... could be 30 bikes in 125 novice and 25 would be TM-125s

the case reed RMs (starting in 1976) were a big step up from the piston port TMs and early (1975) RM-125

Alot of my freinds rode tms.I started working at 13 for a neighbor's business so I was able to buy rm new. The rm was a screamer very fast for 125. but I liked CrS for the handling better.

I guess my rarest bike is my 74 YZ250A.  That motor really ran hard.  I bought it from the original owner and flogged it at vintage bike races for years until I was afraid it would blowup.  It's been parked upstairs in my barn for over 20 years.
