520H Seat Frame (spring)

Good Afternoon All,

 

I just keep having problems with this beast!  I was driving the tractor and noticed the angle bracket (left) that mounted to the body of the tractor cracked.  I was able to find something close to repair it.  Not too long after that, the spring cracked!!!!! No idea how the hell that even happened!

 

I hope that its just not me having these issues!  Anyone have any seat hardware that they can part with? Anyone have any fixes or advice on how to deal with this?

I have had to replace both left and right seat springs on my 95 520. The first one broke 10 years ago when I weighed 175 lbs. The other side lived another 7 years even though I was heavier. 10 years ago I bought one at my toro dealer for 20 bucks the price had skyrocketed to 90 some bucks when I bought the second one. If you can still buy a new one now better have deep pockets. I saved all the broken ones and will visit my local welding shop to see what a pro would suggest to repair if I break another. Good luck with your search and they always break in the same spot.

I just checked one of my 520's, and the hole distance is 8" top and bottom.

Did you measure the holes Center-to-Center...??  I have.... and even the smaller/thinner seat srpings are 7"...center-on-center.  

Here are the other smaller/thinner sets...all the same size and ALL with 7" center-to-center drill holes.

520 springs have the 8 inch spacing.

Thanks for the update!  I am potentially interested, just need to measure and confirm the correct spacing.

 

Is anyone able to get reconditioned seats? Mine are pretty trashed

So I actually did measure and the bolt holes or 8 inches center to center Unfortunately the one that is on eBay won’t work
