TJ5208 1,824 #1 Posted July 18, 2021 there is play on the axle on the raider any ideas
8ntruck 7,021 #2 Posted July 18, 2021 (edited) What sort of transmission? Is the play radial (up/down or side to side), or axial (in and out of transmission case)? Most Wheel Horse transmissions will have a little axial play - maybe 1/16 to 1/8 inch. Radial play usually indicates bearing problems. TJ5208 1,824 #3 Posted July 18, 2021 sorry i meant the front axle
pfrederi 17,741 #4 Posted July 18, 2021 Probably worn pivot pin for the front axle. Pull the pin and see if it has grooves worn in it. I redid a Charger. Made a new pivot pin out of 3/4 stock. Drilled out the center hole in the front axle to 7/8" and pressed in to sleeve bearings (7/8 OD 3/4 ID) now nice and tight 5
Pollack Pete 2,273 #5 Posted July 19, 2021 That front pivot has one grease fitting that's usually over looked on tractors.Like anything with a grease fitting.....keep them greased and they'll never wear out.
Lee1977 6,673 #6 Posted July 19, 2021 The hitch plate will ware, don't care how much you grease it. I fixed my C-120 by drilling out the hole and welding in a stepped collar and a new longer pivot pin.
