1054 mower deck PTO clutch bearings

Hey Everybody! First post. New to community. Just purchased a 1054 for $200. Deck included. But the PTO clutch bearings are shot, missing balls... any idea if i can get just the bearings without the whole clutch/pulley assembly? Thanks!

Thats a nice patina looking tractor you found. 

Youll find lots of friendly help here along with a few doses of friendly ribbing. 
I did a search for 953 1054 PTO bearings and didn’t come up with any details. Maybe our File Moderator @gwest_ca can shed a litttle light on them. 

Also, Wheelhorse used standard bearings on most everything, so you should be able to take your existing bearing and seal to an industrial bearing house such as Motion Industries and have them cross reference them.

Welcome to Red Square.  The clutch and PTO are a bit different than the others produced in the years to follow, someone here will most likely have a part number for the bearings.  Nice find!!  And you beat me to it. :confusion-shrug:

Nice looking 1054.Don't mean to steal your thread,but here's a pic of mine.You're not too far away.Come and get mine for 200 bucks.Engine not stuck.Nice ag tires on the rear.And.......good bearings in the clutch hub.

:text-welcomeconfetti: to the :rs:   Nice find.   Like Jim said, get the bearing and seal out and take it to a bearing supplier to match up.   NAPA is usually willing to measure and match bearings.

This may be what you have. Click on the fuzzy picture in the link.

The 5196 bearing is replaced by Toro 109842

Napa 7-04250,

Rotary 484,

Stens 230-033,

Stens HD 230-037, 

Generic 9504AB

 

Remove the handle and the snap ring on the small stub shaft.

Remove the snap ring holding the bearing in the pto hub.

Pull the hub off the crankshaft.

Use a long drift punch to drive the bearing and stub shaft out.

 

Work some new grease into the large needle bearing but don't leave any excess in there so that it runs out under use and spoils the friction disc.

 

Notice this is for crankshafts with 1-1/8" diameter. Some early 10hp models used a 1" diameter crankshaft.

Nice looking survivor there, most of the bearings and seals on a :wh: are standard items that can be obtained at reasonable prices.

It is nice looking, he got me.  For the most part we are neighbors and I keep a close eye on the market when it comes to 953's and 1054's.  I am happy for him!!

Thanks Garry! Will shop around locally and measure the crankshaft to bs safe.
