Preston88 10 #1 Posted July 17, 2021 I have a 1963ish Wheel horse 753 I think. Now I removed the old engine and plan on swapping in a modern used Vanguard motor 6 HP to be exact. Does anyone make an adapter plate. To go from the Kohler larger bolt pattern to modern motor mount holes?
oldlineman 1,481 #2 Posted July 17, 2021 I'm not sure but shouldn't be too hard to fab something up. Bob
Achto 27,602 #3 Posted July 17, 2021 I put a 6.5hp Predator engine in to replace a 4hp Kohler & never drilled a hole.

Bob I was thinking 1 inch square tubing 2 layers as a riser. It was a old kohler cast iron 7-11 hp mounting holes are like 2 in wider and longer then a standard predator 212.
Preston88 10 #5 Posted July 17, 2021 Note vanguard and predator 212 are same bolt pattern.
Goldnboy 926 #6 Posted July 17, 2021 I have used the riser plate from a C81, C85 to mount a K301 shaker plate enigne.
Gregor 4,846 #7 Posted July 17, 2021 If you have already remove the engine, it's too late for this, but if you haven't. I would measure from the frame to center of pto shaft, and from center of trans drive pulley to center of pto shaft. Do whatever you have to, to get it back in THAT spot.
