Pullstart 62,911 #8 Posted July 15, 2021 Maybe @Tractorhead could comment on his customer service, I don’t recall the company. Dayton Freight picked it up, I remember that! I don’t know what happened with the audio on this... but we made a 656 ship safely from Michigan to Bavaria 1

Thank you. @PWL216 for starters where do you want to ship the tractor from/to. I’ve used Fastenal to ship a few things and their initial price quoted have certainly gone up. But I’ve gone back too them and usually got somewhat of a better rate. Their a stickler about all the fluids being drained and no battery. They also have a length/width/height limit because of the Class shipper that they are.
WHX?? 48,828 #13 Posted July 16, 2021 Fastenal says has to be strapped to a pallet for forklift handling. The quotes I have gotten from them the cost depended more on the size of the pallet rather than weight. Guessing an LTL would be about 4 - 500 based on shipments I receive at work. Most carriers will get you a free quote. Rates also depend on whether you need a life gate or not. Didn't you ship a tranny once too Kev? 19 hours ago, squonk said: I wouldn't ship a chocolate cake with my Fastenal store. We would ship you by Fastenal Squonky... with a note on the bill of lading that says get lost..... 1

I called the local Fastenal and they told me where to go on the website. I entered a little bit of information and received a quotation back almost immediately. I would think you’d be able to do the same thing for a tractor to get an idea on your shipping costs. Good luck.

Fortunately with hauling help and use of the member map I have been able to score some that were thought to be out of reach. Lets not forget about the willingness of fellas here that went out of their way to help. 1

oldredrider 2,548 #18 Posted July 16, 2021 Got a quote from UPS freight to ship a mower deck. Made arrangements thru them including charges sent to me. I think the quote was $85...going dock to dock. Deck arrived in good shape but UPS sent the shipper a bill for $250.00. Called UPS and gave them the quote #, they said $85 it is and sent charges to me. Save any and all receipts, and get names of people you talk to. 2

Handy Don 12,235 #20 Posted July 17, 2021 (edited) Seconding using the hauling’ help postings. I picked up some parts at the show for another member and a few days later we met at a midway point to exchange goods and $. I also got treated to a nice Asiago bagel and cup of French roast out of the meeting since we sat for awhile and talked tractors. It’s about more than money.
