RonnieB 2 #1 Posted July 14, 2021 (edited) If I start it regularly it fires up easy. If it sits 2 weeks , it is very difficult to start? Weak spark? Also I have a bit of an emergency. The tube or exhaust besides the carburetor. I think I dropped the wing nut down that whole. The fly wheel is in there too. So I haven't turned it over since. formariz 11,987 #2 Posted July 14, 2021 (edited) If just sitting fuel drops down the line and it takes some effort for pump to pull it back up to carburetor. You can install a check valve right before pump to prevent that . I have done it and it works great. Leaving tractor at an incline with front end down also helps since that tank is located lower than carburetor. Gravity is against that system. Shroud is not hard to remove but it is a labor intense affair. Just be patient and make sure you find all bolts to remove it. There are a couple underneath shroud in not a too obvious location. Gun barrel brushes work well for this task. Good point. I actually also after every mowing, religiously blow compressed air through out entire engine to remove any accumulated clippings or dust. Not always with my 'air pistol' if I'm too lazy to drag the hose and turn on the compressor, but I always have my hand held blower close by.
