Horse Newbie 7,075 #51 Posted July 26, 2021 Though we may be far apart geographically, we are together in spirit... Please join me in prayer... Our most gracious and heavenly father, hear our prayer O' Lord... We ask that you send your Holy Spirit down from heaven to be amongst Howard, his family, the donor, his or her family, and all involved... To cover them Lord in protection, love, healing, and grace... To hold all of them in your guarding arms... And use your omnipotent power GOD to protect all of them now, and forever more... In your son Christ's name we humbly pray. Amen.
wheelhorseman 3,211 #52 Posted July 28, 2021 UPDATE on Howard... This morning I woke up to a text message from Kevin, Howard's son, informing me that Howard was getting prepped for surgery. The special individual who stepped up to donate one of their kidneys was already in surgery. Throughout the day, I have received updates from Kevin, stating that everything was going okay and that there were no complications. The OR nurse did state that they put in a line into Howard's neck as a precaution in case he developed some heart issues. At about 11 this morning, they started opening up Howard because his new kidney was out and in the OR. The special individual is doing well and is in recovery. Howard made it through the surgery and now is in his own room in the hospital. Please continue with the prayers and thoughts for all families involved. Please pray for a speedy recovery, that Howard's new kidney does not get rejected, that Howard has no complications in the healing process, that his family can be with Howard during this time, that the donor's family and the donor have a speedy recovery, that they have no complications in the healing process, and that their family can be there with them. Howard and his family would like you to know how thankful they are for all of your thoughts and prayers during this time. I will keep you posted as I know more. 2 1 3

MaynGod be with both families as they recover from surgery. Edited August 2, 2021 by 953 nut

Kidneys are valuable!! I know you will be just fine. Get better and get back to life as you know it. Prayers for you and the donors family. Well, I now join you with one kidney. Any tips? Like diet or anything...I know that Tylenol is my pain med and no Motrin...but anything more down to earth. Howard came home yesterday and I left the hospital on Friday.

formariz 11,987 #63 Posted August 2, 2021 @David Star In a time where selfishness, arrogance, and indifference is the norm, to come across a story like this, specially involving someone who most of us know and admire is indeed a glimmer of hope for human kind. You have not only my gratitude for your actions but also my admiration . Much respect to you sir. 1 8

David Star 85 #66 Posted August 10, 2021 I am feeling better each day.Tiday was the first day of school, so I had a lot of activity early this morning, I went straight to bed and took a four hour nap to recover. I haven't seen Howard since I left the hospital on the 31st, but I text him daily. He said most of the pain is gone and the healing has begun. Ad for me, I would say i am physically recovered, but my energy levels are still way down....I have a checkup tomorrow at the transplant center, so I guess I will get the official word from the doctors (and there are a lot of them) tomorrow.....thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers.
