D_Mac 8,619 #1 Posted July 7, 2021 So many of you know that I picked up a couple of tractors and some implements that had been sitting in weeds for many years. What you may not know is that for last 4 days I have been in the hospitol. I was bitten by a dog at work and 2 days later I was so sick that I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Sepsis is a blood infection sometimes fatal. I had a 104.3 fever an extremely low blood pressure. Apparently when you don't have a spleen and suffer a dog bite it's a pretty big deal. Soooo.... after being released from hospital today my friend came over and we installed the carb that had been soaking since before I went in. Couple of pulls and it fired right up. So after a little adjusting I sat on the seat, put in 1st gear and yesssss ... it moved. Since the tires are falling off the rims I couldn't drive it but I did put it in each gear and they all worked. Even though it isn't the original engine it is a correct one. Tecumseh H60. I have tires for the rear, I ordered a pair with tubes for the fronts. I am really excited about this one. It cleaned up good. Needs more detailing and needs a seat. Also the usual oil change, fuel line, air cleaner... etc. More to come. NEVER TAKE YOUR HEALTH FOR GRANTED !!!! I am doing well. Being pumped full of antibiotics. Here are some photos of the 500 Special. 10

Pullstart 62,878 #5 Posted July 8, 2021 No fun, any details on the bite? I met a nice lady today with a lab puppy. I take for granted that puppies like to play and I do too... hopefully that doesn’t come back to bit me in the rear some day!

I take for granted that puppies like to play and I do too... hopefully that doesn’t come back to bit me in the rear some day! The bite happened at work. I had about 10 large dogs out in a group. 2 got into a little tiff and before you knew it about half of them were going at it. I reached in to pull 2 apart and honestly not even sure what one bit me. As I was dragging one away I seen the dog had blood all over him. It was my blood. The dogs were all fine. I was bit on the thumb. Didn't seem to bad. Since I am on blood thinners I assumed that to be the reason for all the blood. I cleaned and dressed it and back out to watch the group for the rest of the day. That was Friday. Sat. I pulled the carb on the 500, and spent few hours washing and scrubbing the rest of it. Had thumb bandaged and wore a rubber glove as I did it all. Thumb was sore. Skin punctured and bruising around cut and under the nail. Felt like I whacked it with a hammer. Sunday morning I felt fine. On my way to work I felt a little cold. When I got to work I was trembling uncontrollably. Rushed to ER in ambulance. 104 plus fever blood pressure 72 over 50. Happened soooo fast. The bite isn't that bad. It's the fact that I don't have a spleen to fight the infection. Lost my spleen during my cancer fight 2 years ago. 4 days of pumping antibiotics into an IV in my neck. IV in each arm for getting my blood pressure and temperature back to normal. I was in bad shape. I had sepsis, that's is an infection in your blood. Pretty serious. 4 days of pumping antibiotics in me and finally getting my temp and BP normal they sent me home to work on my Wheel Horses !! I have to take an oral antibiotic for next 10 days. Also have to soak the thumb in some special soap couple times a day. Feel good. Never knew how serious a dog bite can be when you don't have a spleen. Now I sure do !!! D_Mac 8,619 #9 Posted July 9, 2021 So yesterday @squonkcame over to do a little horse trading. I already told you how good that little tecumseh was running on the 500 Special. I had it running 15 minutes before he arrived too. So when Mike got here I fired it up to show him. Well before I could get the words " see how good it runs " out of my mouth... it quit running. I tried starting it again but no luck..... The Squonk Tecumseh Curse had over taken it !!!. No spark now....ughhhhhh. If @squonkever stops by your place hide anything you have with a tecumseh engine on it!!! Circle in with garlic and sprinkle some holy water on it... it might have a chance !! Seriously Mike thanks for the engine and fan assembly. Fan is installed on the 1075. I swapped out tires and wheels on the 500 Special. Might take it to my friends house. I took the blower housing off and didn't see anything unusual so I am guessing the coil gave out. At least I can roll it around now.
