Preston88 10 #1 Posted July 2, 2021 I need help identifying my tractor. Alot of people say 701 and others say 702. Hopefully someone can tell me exact model.
Racinbob 11,081 #2 Posted July 2, 2021 Not a 701 or 702. The front axle and steering wheel says a 1963 model. With the Kohler most likely a 753. But............the double starter and engine pullies indicate it's from a 701. Not the engine that came on a 1963 model. I'd say the tractor is definitely a 1963 but the engine is a 1961.

Definitely not a 701. Wrong dash, wrong steering fan gear, wrong front axle. The front axle and steering linkage is also wrong for it to be a 702. My best guess would be that your tractor is a 753 with a 701 engine.

oliver2-44 9,750 #5 Posted July 2, 2021 It looks like you have a great Frankenhorse, which so many of them are after 60 years. Looks like a good project.
Pullstart 62,878 #6 Posted July 2, 2021 it looks like you’ve got plenty to do to get that thing running and driving again! Have fun and good luck!
WHX?? 48,815 #7 Posted July 2, 2021 (edited) Thinking it started life as a 702 but someone definitely had their way with her. No matter still some potential there. Yes keep us posted on what you do with her. Edited July 2, 2021 by WHX24
Preston88 10 #8 Posted July 2, 2021 Well I dont have any intentions on keeping it original :/ It was free and I just need something to run wood around the property and dump yard debri and trimmings up in the woods. Im only in the project $170 bucks for new tires and belt. I traded the seized kohler for a running engine. Just need to align the motor and drill some new mounting holes. Everything else is freed up. Trans shifts in and out of gear steering moves and brake/clutch are freed up. Just some sanding and oiling pedal and steering controls.
Preston88 10 #9 Posted July 2, 2021 Most likely only have to spend an additional $50 to get it moving.

Preston88 10 #14 Posted July 3, 2021 Update front tires came in after working on this today. Ill get those mounted Tuesday. I did free up the right side pedal controls. I have an idea how to set that right pedal up for a throttle with return springs. Total cost invested $185 and ill get all the return springs and the throttle cables and hardware from a bike brakes system which will probably cost $0.
Preston88 10 #15 Posted July 3, 2021 Also tractor flapper pipe and wiring up some lights that will run off a ryobi 18+1 Battery.
