Hello All,

already looking forward to next years show... seems to take too long to come and is over way too fast...

 

Bought this Beauty on Saturday... yep I would put it in the "beater class"... the Mag 10 is long gone and a 1960's K301 (12 hp) was shoved in its place, funny thing is it runs and drives really decent... yah it smokes --but its wayyyyyyyy overdue for fluids and grease so thats the first project.

 

Then I started thinking about paint... first thought was all black top to bottom in what I call the "Darth Vader" series... then I looked at it and said hmmmm... a couple cheap rattle cans and go back to factory red / black,,, then @sparky said Industrial Yellow with black rims... then I said hmmmm all black but with the center section of hood red---reverse factory style...

 

The tractor is not faded pink... it is actually iron oxide primer from head to toe and front to back...

 

So this morning for no reason it popped in my head t leave it as-is and have decals made that say OPTIMUS PRIMEr  with the last r lower case... lol

 

lets see some of your non factory colors / paint schemes out there... not sure I'll duplicate any of them... just sitting here running ideas through my head.

 

Absolutely for sure there will be no green tractor / yellow rims or similar OTHER factory setups...

Yeah, I saw that one and thought how ugly it was.  So, anything is going to be better then what's there now. Surprise us. Keep it a secret until you bring it to the show next year.

It's a little tough to see where it's inside the shed here ...

 

My cinnamon horse of course is on the right hand side and Trina's bright red pony is on the left.

 

 

Have to admit I like the rat rod idea you have in mind..

I've often thought that the 3,4,& 500 series tractors would look good with an Autobot or Decepticon decal on the front of the hood where the  is.

I like @squonk's primer/rat idea, except I vote for flat black with gray primer flames. Maybe a red pin stripe outlining the gray flames.

Go with primer grey and have this airbrushed on the hood... Or have someone 3D print it as a hood ornament.

 

And my inner nerd feels compelled to let you know Optimus was an Autobot, not a decepticon. 

 

You could also have Terry whip you up some flame decals.

I like the yellow idea.

 

I saw an add once for a Gravely walk behind with a sidewalk brush.  It was painted construction yellow with USPS markings.

 

You could go yellow, with black Z28 type stripes for a Transformers Bumblebee vibe.

Flames ???? Did someone say Flames ??? I would like to see one in flat black with some red and white pinstripes.

Satin or flat black with silver and gloss black accents

Simply sandblast...

then Scotchbrite and clear them.
