chompinthebit 269 #1 Posted June 28, 2021 Well we were able to put together an interesting group at the big show on Friday. @Lane Ranger, Chris Frock , Josh Aungst, and myself got our tractors together for some pictures with our extremely uncommon CBR-327 front mount sickle bar mowers. It was very cool to get 4 of these together in one place considering how uncommon they are. Thank you guys for bringing them along. For those of you that may not know, these sickle bars were made/sold in 1961 and early 1962 based off of paperwork I have found. They were similar to the prior CBR-32 sickle bars used on rj/suburban tractors but used a floating chain drive system and different hitch to be mounted on the front engine round hood tractors. I know of around 8 to exist personally. I’m sure there are more but still very uncommon. 4

Lane Ranger 10,947 #4 Posted November 1, 2022 Video of my CBR-327 cutting on my 1961 Wheel Horse 701 tractor. This chain drive sickle works a little better cutting than an RJ/Suburban front cutter bar ( and I own both types)! IMG_5213.MOV

And one day I'm gonna get my 701 restored. One of my favorites! Nice video! You don't see those in NC anymore. 1

There is a lot of thinks going on inside this. Bearings, e rings, brass bushings, and heat! 30 weight oil was what was the original fluid recommendation from Wheel Horse.
