The proper end for a JD

Your and my favorite admin / moderator @Sparky using his C105 to DRAG (kicking and screaming) his fathers 30 yr old JD STX38 to its final resting place... lol

You do have to give it kudos... mowed for 30 yrs and was driven by 3 or 4 teenage boys. Transaxle quit after 1 billion, 300 million, 458 thousand, 904 clutch dumps...

I’m not a fan of much of anything John Deere, but I have owned a couple of those STX38s and they were pretty good little mowers.

I agree…dad bought this STX38 brand new in 1989…mowed just under an acre all those years. He has 4 grandsons and they have been mowing his lawn with this tractor for years (he loves the time with them and he pays em all well).
A few weeks ago he called and says the transmission has split wide open. I suspect all those grandsons have been dumping the clutch and hammering it from reverse to a forward gear and vise-versa :auto-layrubber:

Front tires look good. I guess they don't wear much when they're up in the air!
