Digger 66 3,478 #1 Posted June 26, 2021 Hey fellas , a guy I ride with is having a hot start issue with an old 2-smoke Mantis tiller he's working on . He says the label on the tank says mix 6oz of oil to 1 gal of gas . This seems extreeeeemely fat to me for even such an early engine . He just rebuilt the carb ( or put a Hong Kong special on it , I'm not sure ) and sent me a pic of some metal shavings he claimed came out of the carb ( I said $%^*^%* ??? ) . I asked him to play with the choke while he's having the issue and check for spark when it's acting up , but now he's unavailable for the rest of the day .That's what I know about it and just thought I'd throw it out here and see if anyone had any experience with these . Thanks a bunch .
tom2p 2,394 #2 Posted July 19, 2021 I typically mix a small 8 oz can of lawn boy 2 cycle oil to approx 2 1/4 gallons of gas (approx 32:1 ?) for our small two stroke powered machines - including a mantis tiller
