ljfarraher 16 #1 Posted June 22, 2021 Just tried installing a pedal kit for hydro drive by Matt on my 96 520H hydro and found the deck lift hardware jams the bottom of the pedal and when I try to locate it over a little more..the hardware holding the rod under the pedal then jams it. Had to lower the deck to be able to stop..otherwise was like cruise control that was not releasing. Any ideas of what I might have missed
JoeM 7,874 #2 Posted June 22, 2021 A few pics would help, my first though is the deck is lifting to high. ?/?

You may need to adjust the trunion that lifts the deck. Sounds like it wants to pull up past max lift. It should be adjusted so the stops just contact the footrests when the cylinder is topped out.

Had the foot rests off..but put one side on and found the stops are about 1/2 inch from hitting the bottom at full lift...and seen the beck DIDN'T pitch up more in the front like I thought.. Then I don't know what to tellya! I've not used Matt's kit... Here's the instruction for adjusting the trunion, the stops should contact the foot rests so you may want to adjust that after you've got the pedal thing sorted out: And you might also want to check the level condition too, that's the trunion at the rear of the deck:
ljfarraher 16 #14 Posted June 23, 2021 I think I found an issue as to why I cannot get the foot convert to work.. On the leveler bar for a 48" deck part# 78360 is there 2 bars or 3 bars which includes the front to rear pitch bar?? Parts schematics show 2 and I have 3 welded in place on the cross bar which includes the one right under where the foot pedal would normally go.

This is an older 48" deck but I don't believe there's any substantial difference in the layout. Sorry I don't have a rear shot showing the back side more clearly... I have a 3rd bar far to the right of your deck from front to rear and the middle bar in less than 1/2 inch from the center pully grease zerk..this has to be the wrong leveller arm for this deck when this guy re-done the tractor and deck. Anyway..deck still under so hard to get pics and in middle of a cluster to clean and make room to get it off for pics.. Think I'm going to get an original and replace so I can use the pedal conversion. Only $90 so not bad to finish my project.
oldhorse1 7 #20 Posted March 21, 2022 Looking for contact information for Matt - Interested in one of his pedal kits for my 520. Tried emailing him, but the email I used was from a 2016/17 listing I came across on here. Anyone have anything contact info on Matt?

Last time (until just now) when I looked, Matt was listed in the vendor section with contact info. I also looked at my copy of the install manual and there is no contact info listed. Right now, however, there are NO topics visible in the Classified/Vendor page, which seems like something might be broken. One of the admins ( @admin or @stevasaurus or @Sparky ) may want to take a peek at that.

Lee1977 6,664 #23 Posted March 22, 2022 The third bar is for the vacuum powered by the deck pulley to keep it level. I added the third bar to my deck to keep it level when the vacuum is on, mine isn't power by the beck but wanted to hang down with the hose and chute is on Is this the bar your deck has. This deck is new to me, the previous owner welded a plate all the way across. It's the best deck I've seen so I decided to undercoat it. At half the cost of POR-15 I used fiberglass resin .
