MikeBe 3 #1 Posted June 21, 2021 I was looking for a new seat on local craigslist for my c121. (Stickers don't match) And came home with a second wheel horse instead. Needs some restauration but i have a question. I think it is a commando 7. But has a Köhler magnum 8 engine. Where did they put the identification plate to be sure? I still have to clean it. 😂 Here some pictures. It has hard pitting but the chassis is very nice.
stevasaurus 22,914 #2 Posted June 21, 2021 The model/serial number tag should be on the left side of the tower, or under the gages on the tower. You may well have a horse that was made in Belgium, so you really can't look at list from the U.S. Here is a list of the horses that were built in Belgium. See if you can find the model number. I does look like a Commando.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,137 #3 Posted June 21, 2021 The Commando model name was used in Europe long after it ended in North America. The newest I see is 1975 but it is not well documented. Click on the picture in each link for more
rjg854 11,578 #4 Posted June 22, 2021 Looks the same as my 68 Commando
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,137 #5 Posted June 24, 2021 The light colored rectangle below the dash panel may be the ID plate. Curious to know what is on it.
MikeBe 3 #6 Posted June 24, 2021 Tanks for the help. Its model number 1-3741 and belgium made or assembeld. 😉 I'am from belgium but think my c121 is American. Now i don't know how it's even possible that i overlooked the id plate. 😂 So it's a 1969 workhorse. I already completely disassembeld it for paint. Also it jumps out of 3 gear. But looks like it's not going good in gear. Will open up the gearbox if i get the hitch pin removed. 😅
rjg854 11,578 #7 Posted June 24, 2021 Best of luck removing that hitch pin. That's one of the rights of passage owning a Wheel Horse They either come right out or you fight them every inch of the way
