Rather than exposing your obvious prejudice against America's favorite motorsport you may want to do a bit of a fact check. The June 15, 2021 race in Texas had a viewership of 2.735 million and during the Covid pandemic when all other sports were sidelined and broadcasting reruns of previous seasons NASCAR overcame the problems associated with the virus and several million new race fans were added to the ranks. If NASCAR was irrelevant why would major corporations sponsor racecars? They do it to reach a huge loyal audience. 2

I'll mow on Saturdays in spring and fall, but once fishing season hits I try to have all my chores done by Friday night so I can take the kids fishing or bike riding. My yard only takes an hour if I don't get interrupted though.
rmaynard 15,512 #60 Posted October 21, 2021 This showed up on a news feed on my phone this morning. The article was in reference to California's proposed ban on gas powered outdoor equipment
AMC RULES 37,130 #61 Posted October 21, 2021 Dig the photo Bob! From everything I've read to date on this subject, they're referring to new sales here, which I'm hoping will make everything we do become even more valuable in the future.
SylvanLakeWH 25,600 #62 Posted October 22, 2021 Nothing to do with California’s nonsense, but due to my back issues, I’ve just gone to all 20 volt battery for my push mower, weed whip, hedge trimmer, chainsaw and leaf blower. Can’t handle the heavy back pack blower anymore and pulling the cords in those little 2 strokes simply aggravates the back… Went with Dewalt’s 20 volt line and I am very pleased… now granted, they are not comparable to our ‘s, but for the 3 small lawns that I maintain they are perfect. Lightweight, quiet, very good at what they do… and no more gas/oil (except the chain saw)… and did I mention lightweight…? No belief here that they are “green” either… they are heavy duty plastic, use toxic batteries and rely on coal and natural gas for the electricity that charges them… but they do the job for me without the physical impact on my back… No such thing as a free lunch…for energy, the environment or my back…

Went back to gas. I did get a 4-stroke one, which seems to start easier than any of my 2-stroke equipment ever has.

I talked to a guy from the power company and he said if we switched to electric vehicles tomorrow it would collapse the grid because it simply cannot handle that kind of load. The largest offshore wind turbine has a rotor that is just under 900 ft in diameter. Its peak output is 15MW (15000kw) (34.8hp) These require areas of consistent strong steady winds. The typical near shore or on land wind turbine is in the 2000kw (2.6hp) to 5000kw 6.7hp) rating. So its going to take a few million wind turbines just to replace out lawn mowers! R Scheer 502 #65 Posted October 23, 2021 You may want to check your conversions, 1hp = app 750W, therefore 15MW generator is about 20000 hp, not 34.8.

The head twists and slides in and out as well as the handle pivots too so always easy to find the right stance to hold it that doesn't hurt my back too bad. Very well balanced. The blower is a little weak, but cleans the grass just fine, not so much if you have a bunch of leaves. No way I could trim with a gas powered anymore and I use the matching shop tools to go with it for home. For the trimmer line I found some at Amazon that is awesome, best line I have used ever. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E2D3E4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Doesn't get tangled in the spool like some I have tried in the past. Five stars!! Randy
