Beater photos (Ugly ones)

With the big show coming up many members  attending will see all the sparkling "nice" tractors.

How about users post the ugly, abused, neglected but still RUNNING horses waiting for more abuse. Ya know the ones that just don't seem to ah... die.

You ain't kiddin'

Here's my wreck after "aerating" some of the new topsoil after 1900 sq.feet of concrete was poured. It consists of a 90x14 driveway , front walkway , front porch and the shown 12x30 patio .

If I could lift that ball, it would be on the seat in your truck!

Exactly what Dick said! That's the beauty of the big show. Sure, there are plenty of nicely restored trailer queen tractors on display but everything WH is more than welcomed there. I'd guess about 1/2 or more of the tractors there every year are everyday tractors.

The “WHRat WHrecker” is the only rig yesterday that didn’t get a pre-show bath.  Unfortunately, all the show tractors got a couple inches of rain on them this morning!

My girls’ two, “Barney Fife” and “Screamin’ Jimmy” are unrestored and quite modified... but they at least got a bath.

I picked up this tractor for parts, then decided it was too nice to part out so I got it running and cleaned it up. I guess this guy ran machines til he decided they were done then parked them. He had an older Simplicity in the back yard covered by a jon boat that I was going to get but the axle was broken (I did get the snow plow and sickle mower that fit my Allis Chalmers). This tractor was parked under a car port covered in leaves and pine cones and there was a newer Sears that looked like it was probably still in use.

You never know what is living under those work clothes. I got two c series 14 HP black hoods last fall for$200. The worst looking one had a rebuilt tight engine 15 over bored. The nice looking one runs, but at the minimum could use some rings.

Its like a kid at Christmas when the engine fires, the auto transmission works, or that electrical problem no one can solve is a loose connection at the rectifier. Often times just checking the valves, head gasket and removing carbon from the head will give them a new life.  Even if there is no engine, you can put in a 6.5 HP Harbor Freight to have a yard tractor for the cart or grand kids. Built like tanks that will survive in some form forever

Here’s some in the stable that won’t make the show roster this year...

The C-101 didn’t get named... it’ll likely be used for parts for the 953/1054 plow rigs though it really only needs a gas tank and a battery.

Isn't that how Indians named offspring by naming them by the first thing they saw outside the tee pee?

I knew this thread would be full of rusty/trusty tractor pics. Deep down we all love a good ol’ filthy worker machine with a couple battle scars

A few years back I brought my "Barn Find 953" to the Big Show and got lots of thumbs up. There is no need to presume that a :wh: needs to be freshly painted, we love them all.

As luck would have it the narrow front 953 with three point hitch didn't want to cooperate (starter/generator went up in smoke) today so the barn find will be making a second appearance at the 2021 Big Show. I have too much going on in my life to replace the S/G right now and the barn find started right up.       :woohoo:
