I ran out of time to make a tea area, but will make that a job for next trip :-)

Forgot to take photographs of my power tool storage racks - designed so they won't move about in heavy weather. The company brought me a full suite of Milwaukee 18v stuff - drill, impact driver, circular saw, jigsaw, planer, radio and a multitool type thing. It's all hidden so the apes don't take them and never put anything back 🙂

Tables being delivered to various cars in the back of our little electric tug "Ernie".

 

We use him to bring foot passengers luggage on in little covered trailers. When he has 8 trailers behind it's a bit like driving an Aussie road train, albeit still with an awesome turning circle. Will get a video for you guys one of these days.

My ships workshop has come along in leaps and bounds.

 

I now have possession of all the lockers, that big grey one was full of engine room paperwork, its now full of tools after I sweet talked the Chief Engineer into letting me have it

 

The red locker was stolen in the dark of night from one of the changing rooms and contains lengths of timber and metal to keep the place tidy.

 

Found the grey rubbish bin in one of the skips up the dock - its a beauty! everyone else thinks I'm nuts scratching about in skips, but its amazing what you find.

 

Its so easy to build even complicated items in there now.

Ha ha, I don't care what they do   it was just sitting empty in the corner, and then as if by magic it was in my workshop...

@Dan.gerous  thanks for the tour , can relate, first making a building change , getting to know people and related problem areas. having a  retired navy chief shift foreman , was the cure. initial contact and reaction to a problem , no screwing around , just matter of fact  , get this back on line action . once we started bouncing  ideas and opportunities  off each other , it was like not even working ! always had a think sheet  working in my pocket  on an issue , talk to chief , lets make that happen !  thats what i,am  talking about !  liked working in that area , SORBITOL , working for Doug  , was a common sense  regular  set up , kept it quiet from the  management  K / A   group, helped my wind down to retirement , still cruising  , pete

More updates, new lockers going in, new pillar drill and hundreds of pounds of other tools and clamps arrived this week. 22 years with nothing, I don't know why they didn't do this sooner.

I notice the thread on engines, but didn't want to bust in as these are not quite the same.

 

Just below my workshop is where we keep the main engines.

 

Thought you guys might enjoy a look. They are 2 decks high and somewhere in the region of 8000hp each - we have four of them.

Probably require slight frame notch and front axle upgrades to use them on a Horse

That and the shaft will face the wrong way, will need 90 degree gearbox and a 20 metre frame extension. 

 

Do they make drive belts that long?

It's only about 1000 litres an hour each, so the existing tank should get a few seconds running.

It's 2022 - wireless cameras back to a screen in front of the driver. Or even a VR headset.

 

Forgot, we will need a trailer to hold a generator to power the air compressor and auxiliary pumps for lubrication and air start.
