Removing press fit pulley from 48" deck spindle

Recommended Posts

Any words of wisdom to get a right side spindle pulley off? Tried heat and even tried to tap the 2 holes in the pulley to jack the pulley up. No dice. Once the nut is off the top and the blade is removed from the bottom, can I get the spindle shaft out the top with the pulley still on it so I can go to the arbor press? Or, will the shaft press out downward through the pulley? Thanks as always!

OMG! Put the deck up on the forklift, put a aluminum block on top of the spindle, and few light taps and it dropped right out. Feel like I hit the lottery. Was sure it would be my nightmare

But they're not 'press fit', they just get 'stuck'.  So it's really a 'Stuck Booger Fit'.
