pfrederi 17,741 #1 Posted June 13, 2021 Wonderful gift from China...Emerald Ash Borer. There are a few trees I can cut myself like this one, but, I am hiring a tree service to lay down several more. There will be lots of cutting up and hauling away work for the 310-8 and the L-107. Provably some heavy lifting with the D200 FEL. Yesterday was the start. 6 7

Pollack Pete 2,273 #3 Posted June 13, 2021 Ah.....make that Horse earn its keep.Cut down 2 dead elms behing my shop last week. One about 60 feet tall. One about 40.Both about 16 inch diameter at the base.Been dead for years and I was afraid they would fall on my shop. Those trees would have stood probably the rest of my life. The wood was solid as a rock.Too much work for this old man.Even when using my John Deere 490D excavator.
Tuneup 1,433 #4 Posted June 13, 2021 Between cheap Chinese trees and NJ elm disease, there won't be any good hardwoods left . Elm made for plenty of warm days and nights by the wood stove in the old NJ days.
dcrage 628 #5 Posted June 14, 2021 Is there something killing Chinese Elms on the East Coast or are you guys having recently regrown American Elms succumbing to Dutch Elm Disease??

It's dependable, and tough as nails. Always nice that see them do what they were meant to!
Retired Wrencher 5,465 #7 Posted November 4, 2022 It is good to have these tractors to do a good day's work. Nice trailer also.
