Type of wood, that sort of thing. And I forget if we've asked you this before, do you play?

However for the ones that do not know, it is a 60's Les Paul Standard in Sunburst Iced Tea finish. The body is Mahogany with a AA Figured Maple top. Rosewood Fretboard with Inlays. Neck is also Mahogany and its all finished in a high gloss lacquer.. I don't play but I am extremely familiar with Gibson and Fender Guitars. 1 2

Handy Don 12,163 #11 Posted July 3, 2021 (edited) Turns out one guy I hired years ago was a session guitarist for a lot of the big acts of the day (he needed a day job--according to him you couldn't make a living as a session musician). He once showed me his Les Paul (and he knew the man personally!) that he took out and played only on the most special of occasions. He had many other beautifully crafted guitars as well and their obvious craftsmanship left me in awe. That's when I realized that a hobby of collecting wonderful instruments can crimp a budget! @formariz, regardless of how it came to be with you, I'm glad it is now in the hands of someone who appreciates its value as an instrument, as an example of fine craft, and as a historical artifact and will take care of it.
