Scott Seehase 1 #1 Posted June 11, 2021 My wheel horse 312-8 motor stalls when I engage the mower deck, what am I missing for troubleshooting thisissue? Thanks,
Maxwell-8 4,275 #2 Posted June 11, 2021 (edited) @Scott Seehase You are giving it some throttle? Is the deck free, not cloughed up with grass? With the pto and engine off, Can you turn the deck pulleys/blades by hand? Edited June 11, 2021 by Maxwell-

Thanks, Hi Scott, welcome to the forum! You should check all the interlocks, particularly the 'seat switch'. If the machine thinks there is no operator on the seat because the switch or wiring is bad, the engine will cut out. There's also a switch on the PTO engagement. Do you own and know how to use a multimeter?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #4 Posted June 11, 2021 Welcome to Red Square. If you are not having any luck post the tractor model number and serial number off the decal under the left side of the seat (most likely location) and we can dig up the appropriate wiring diagrams to help solve the problem. Wheel Horse 3D 3,791 #5 Posted June 11, 2021 Just had the exact same thing happen on my C141. Ran fine one day, the next go out and durn thing stalled every time I engaged the Deck. A bit of fiddlin around and a Multimeter I managed to bypass that interlock.

On that note, Mine's getting connected to a pump for the FEL anyway, rather than the triple rotating edges of DOOOM! lol

953 nut 55,112 #11 Posted June 11, 2021 Scott, the seat switch is the most common cause of this problem. If that isn't your problem let us know and we will dig a bit deeper.
