Digger 66 3,478 #1 Posted June 6, 2021 Hey folks . Should I buy this ? Will it bolt-on to my '72 Raider 10 ? What is needed to raise & lower it ? I do not have the cable lift . Can I get the complete lift ? What additional bracket(s) will I need ? How about the belt ? I know that's alot of questions but I never had a tiller before let alone tried to bolt one up to my Horse . Thank you for any answers !

squonk 41,040 #3 Posted June 6, 2021 That look like an older tiller. There are more idlers and brackets you need like the rear axle bracket for example and the mid idler bracket. Lowell had lift cables and rock shaft kits. But I'm not sure what will work on an older tractor. I have a 72 Raider sitting in my shop and I don't see a way to install a rear rock shaft. for some reason tines are always worn out on these. You see old walk behind tillers for sale all the time and they are fine.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #4 Posted June 6, 2021 Here is the tiller sold for your tractor back in the day. I think the later models used a simpler drive belt system you could use. Since then they had Service Assemblies that would adapt a new tiller to older tractors and older tillers to newer tractors but could never figure out what the kits consisted of. Your tines don't look to bad. Garry

The rock shaft isn't required on tractors that came before the 300/400/500 series and the black hood B/C series tractors. The lift cable goes directly to the hitch or to the lift chain on the tiller. In other words, if the gas tank isn't under the seat, you don't need a rock shaft. Edited June 7, 2021 by kpinnc
c-series don 8,670 #6 Posted June 8, 2021 I’m not sure but I think you need an idler pulley at the tiller itself. I have two tillers, the oldest being a 7-1251 that I believe is a 1974 model. Both have idler pulleys on the tiller. I’m not sure how the belt will clear going under the axle without an idler.
