PbFlinger 64 #1 Posted June 4, 2021 So glad I got this little oven, I use it all the time. This one has a convection fan in it, and a digital thermostat which is very accurate. Seems like all of this modern paint takes forever to dry, and weeks to get hard. I let stuff flash off for a while, then after a 60-90 minute bake @ 200* paint seems as hard as it’s going to get, and to me seems much harder than if just air dried. Very nice to be able to install something in a couple of hours rather than waiting a week. Also if I see I missed a spot, I don’t have to wait four days to re coat it. The controlled temp is also great for heating bearings and whatever for installation. One of the best $100 I’ve ever spent. 5 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Gregor 4,846 #9 Posted June 5, 2021 I have tried baking painted parts. It seems I get mixed results. Some dry very nice, not to mention quick. Others dry, but the paint turns very dull. I could never predict the end result, so I gave it up. Glad it's working for you. For the record, you don't want to wrap parts in a towel, and put them in your wifes clothes dryer. PbFlinger 64 #12 Posted June 6, 2021 Re: paint bake temperature- granted I’m rarely going for show quality finish on brackets, hardware & other small parts, but I have found 200* works good for me. Of course it has a thermostat, so you can set it wherever you’d like. As an example, I painted & baked this angle bracket last night at 200. I painted the lift arm at the same time with the same paint, and it has air dried overnight. Maybe you can’t tell from this picture, but the bracket is actually glossier.
