Somewhere along the way some twine got in the spindle and worn the snap ring groove and all off of the housing. I have seen them worn before but nothing like this one. Skwerl58 702 #2 Posted June 2, 2021 Great picture! I had a noise from my center pulley on my 42" deck and had the same problem but not as bad. The snap ring groove was worn flat to the snap ring. I put new bearings in it and am saving it as a spare. I replaced the spindle with a new one from the jungle site. Glad you caught it because what would happen if it had locked up? Jeff-C175 7,199 #4 Posted June 2, 2021 (edited) I found same type of wear on all three of my spindles that I just replaced. Not caused by the twine though, just built up grease, dirt, grass, etc, inside the cup on the bottom. Those need to be cleaned out periodically to prevent this type of wear! It actually did not sound to bad. That was some bad ass twine. My daughter had this machine for a couple months while I repaired her xi oil leak. All the spindles were clean when it went to her place. I know she spread some straw to soak up some mud, must have missed a piece of the twine. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
