I'd  use a small screw with the head about the same size as the ball and a nut above and below your linkage...:handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'd say Mr 'Apples has gotcha fixed up.

My first thought was:

Why did you replace the original carb?

To be honest im not vary good with carbs.. It seamed like a quick fix.... The old girl was cutting out after about 1 min. I saw some fuel leaking out around the bowl and I Youtubed and saw that I should spend money to buy a shitty carb!!! I still have the old one. I would like to put it back on. could I just swap out the gasket around the bowl?

You should absolutely put it back on.

Send it to me.

I'll rebuild provided it can be done.

Parts/chemicals cost is about $25 or so.

I don't charge labor.

Shipping is probably $12 to $14 each way.

FYI...

That's likely the needle and seat being gunkified and not working quite right.

My local hardware store has a selection of ball joint rod ends.  They have one with 10-32 threads.  Check your local hardware store.  Bill

Apparently that is the shaft from the new carb you have in your hand?? If so just take the shaft out of your other carb and put it in the new one.

I have to switch out the choke shaft on bout all the import carbs.

That's a great idea but it didn't work on the one I bought for the c-160 a couple years ago.

I can't remember which way was which but the shaft diameter was just a hair off size.
