rmaynard 15,514 #1 Posted June 1, 2021 Am I the only person disappointed with LGT Mag this month? There was no mention of Wheel Horse (I know it's not a WH magazine), but the Wheel Horse Collectors Club Show was not even in the calendar of upcoming events. Sad.

Stepney 2,325 #3 Posted June 1, 2021 Kate is a lovely lady to work with, I had answered a request online and sent in a whole ton of Baird Beaver paperwork, some one off.. hardly even made it into the magazine tho. After all the time messing with the local scan place I had hoped to atleast let them be seen. I like all brands but I too stopped.. seem to find just as much, or more, content online these days.. Gas Engine Magazine and Tired Iron both have met similar fates.. used to be a great read. Now the stories lack and half the thing is filler and ads.. Pity, I like a good hard copy read.. 6
rmaynard 15,514 #4 Posted June 1, 2021 I have nothing against Kate. I have met her and Brandon, both very nice people. I do find it strange though that neither this nor the last magazine had the WHCC show in the calendar. I was always excited to get the magazine in the mail, but like every other magazine I've subscribed to, the content continues to disappoint until I think it's time to end my subscription.
SPINJIM 1,981 #5 Posted June 2, 2021 Kate has said in a previous issue that the Wheel Horse CC show was her "favorite show". Makes me wonder about the oversight of listing our show. Also, have been having trouble getting my issues on time. I can probably blame the Arizona publisher or the Post Office for that, and Charlotte has promptly sent me the late issue, but I wonder what's happening. c-series don 8,723 #6 Posted June 2, 2021 I do remember a while ago they were looking for story’s to print. I have somewhat of a lengthy history with Wheel Horse tractors, almost 40 years. I’ve started to write it to send it to them years ago and just never finished. I have some great pictures to submit as well. I wonder if people like me and probably many of you had done this how much better that magazine could be? Also I’m sure there’s lots of us here that would love to see their tractor(s) on the front cover!! I know I would!

Sad. just a thought as I don’t know how an event calendar is built...but could it be that a confirmation was never made in a timely manner as to weather there would be a show this year? Early on this year COVID-19 was still an issue . 3
Pollack Pete 2,273 #8 Posted June 2, 2021 That's the problem with most hard copy magazines the last few years.Nothing in them that the readers want to read. Then the publishers and owners of the magazine wonder why subscriber's are disappearing.Anyone looked at a Hot Rod magazine lately? What a joke.
stevasaurus 22,764 #9 Posted June 2, 2021 You know, the WHCC really keeps a low profile. Did they even up date their web site yet this year.??

WHX?? 48,828 #11 Posted June 2, 2021 I too let my sub run out. When I did there was supposed to be a article every issue written by @grnlark??? Was always going to renew it but never got around to it. Me thinks the covids didn't help with no shows last year. Coupla older threads.... tractorchick 399 #14 Posted June 3, 2021 Hey guys- It's been difficult to keep up with what shows are happening and which have canceled for this year. I did get a notification about the Wheel Horse show on Facebook messenger but I don't check it often enough to stay on top of it. Emailing show information is the best way so that it gets filed correctly into the publishing folders. At any rate, I will post it to the magazine's Facebook page immediately and I apologize that it wasn't in the Road Trips section of L>. As far as content goes, our dedicated writer, Matt Castagno, has done an excellent job with stories and photos for L> in the past. For him as well as for us, getting stories last year with the shows canceled due to COVID was challenging. During that time we relied on our subscribers to send in articles and photos about their tractors and collections. We welcome articles and stories and if it is short and sweet, that is way okay! In the past, I've had to pass on some stories due to the fact that the photos and scans were low resolution, but this year I have discovered a way to boost the quality of photos and scans. The printing company we use demands high resolution photos, otherwise the pictures are "fuzzy" and appear pixelated. Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine is YOUR magazine. It is about you, the collector. We want to promote your shows and your collections, and we need your help in order for that to happen. We are a small, family owned and operated business. We work day jobs just like you, we are raising families and taking care of elderly parents and trying to squeeze the most out of every day. We too are struggling like many other publications and small businesses but we continue because we need a publication for this hobby that brings the collectors together. If the magazine is not your cup of tea, I get that and there's no hard feelings. If you do subscribe, we appreciate it more than you know. The bottom line is that we want to promote a fun and enriching hobby for all. I hope this explanation helps a little bit. I was out yesterday due to a death in the family so I did not hop on to respond. Brandon talked with me about this thread and it bothered me all night. Yes, the Wheel Horse show is my favorite show. The people are just top notch and the event takes a lot of time and effort, and they really roll out the red carpet for their guests. I wish I could be there every year! But Brandon works full time, and my husband works full time and that leaves me to travel alone, 12+ hours to the show and that is a lot for just me. Enjoy the show! Someone, anyone, send me an article about the show and some photos, please! My email address is Kate@LagtMag.com. 5 5

tractorchick 399 #17 Posted June 4, 2021 I'm happy to help and I hope to make to to the big show in 2022. Matt Nace has been working on restoring a Wheel Horse 500 Special for me and I want to bring it back home again to Indiana.
