One more Rare Bird - 1947 Pond Lever Steer

Pullstart

I’ve got spark, I’ve got fuel, I’ve got a tiny puff out the muffler.  It must be a points gap thing.  I’ll play with the points some more and hear it run soon!

But not tonight.

The taper frame is the common frame used. The last ones made had a straight frame and a Wisconsin engine but earlier style like yours should be the ZZP.  There was also 2 different styles of rear ends.  The center section and drop boxes are little different. Yours has the late style. From the looks of it every peice of your tractor been welded on or modified but it's a good start.

When I had my hot rod it was the noise of when you let the clutch out that I loved :auto-layrubber:

It was actually a not enough fuel thing.  I kept toying with stuff until in popped to life!  :banana-rock:

Possible, but he was pretty certain he knew what bolt it was.  I just have to see if there are marks or metal shavings anywhere.  We’ll get there :handgestures-thumbupright:

It’s part of the pressure plate fingers.

I’m torn whether to grind the material away for clearance and risk the material tearing up the clutch disc, or just let it find it’s own way...  but I suppose it will throw metal pieces that way too.

Thanks for all the compliments fellas!  As for video quality... well it gets the point across I guess.  There are monotonous and slow parts, but it shows my efforts and excitement in raw form.

Thanks for your insight!  I see the imperfections, but also the efforts made to keep it in the field too.  For now, I’ll clean it up and let it tell the story.  Some day, maybe re-create some parts and keep what it came with on a shelf.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I added a kill button to the magneto and ground the fingers and studs on the pressure plate.  No noise in the bellhousing!  :banana-linedance:

I have some T-posts to drive today.  I suppose I have a reason to drive Jackie around the property!  Shucks!

On the magneto tractors that we have, I ran a wire from the mag to a switch that could be accessed from he seat. I know it's not original but I did this as a safety feature. If the need arises you can shut the tractor off without leaving the drivers seat. Thought it important, specially when driving around a crowd of people at a show.

You know the rules Matt... No “looking” allowed.  Riding, sure!  :handgestures-thumbupright:
