A shady parking spot

Recommended Posts

My dogwood this year is weighed down with blooms, creating a shady grotto for my van. Each one of those blooms will turn into an edible cherry like fruit.  (It’s going to be messy)

We had a big damson tree at  the front of the drive. The birds loved it. We didn't love all the purple bird $h*t over the cars and yard. The tree ain't there no more. :chores-chopwood:

Didn’t know dogwoods made a fruit. I do want a cherry tree though. Hopefully they would do well here.

They do well in Wisconsin so I don't think you should have an issue.

I don't believe that's a Dogwood....I have heard that the Dogwood flower symbolizes Christ's crucifixion...the white petals on the flower of a Dogwood symbolizes purity, have a dark stain on each of the four petals signifying the blood stains from his hands and feet where the nails were driven.

Two hands, two feet, four petals, four stains.

I have never seen a Dogwood that bore fruit.

Look up Kousa Dogwood.  I think that's what that is.

Regular Dogwood is well past it's blooming season.

Yep, Korean Kousa Dogwood.   American Dogwood has the red stain on the petals.

Been thinking about picking fruit and making some mash from it. I just have to stay ahead of the birds.
