ondeadlin 32 #1 Posted May 29, 2021 (edited) Spent much of last weekend working with my C-160 and the tiller. Worked like a champ. Left the tiller on, because I knew I had more tilling to do this weekend. Checked the trans before I started her up today, was a little low, so I added some oil. Took the seat and the fender off to do it. Put 'em back on, turned over right away, sounded great. Used the hydro to raise the tiller. Got in position, but as soon as I went to fully engage the PTO for the tiller, she stalls. Doesn't lose power or start to stall or make any problematic sounds until right at the end, when it sputters and stalls. -- Runs great in forward and reverse, full power, no issues -- Hydro runs as it should -- Tiller turns as it should if the PTO is partially engaged, no signs of any issue there. -- There do not seem to be any belt issues, too tight, etc. Same setup as last week. ondeadlin 32 #3 Posted May 29, 2021 (edited) I did reconnect the seat switch, but maybe I should check to see if it's fully engaged. That's a good thought, thanks. Went out this morning, took the seat switch apart, cleaned the contacts on both sides, put it back together right, and that did it. Thank you all! If the weeds were thriving and not scraped off for discard elsewhere, you may have just tilled in all their seeds and "planted" them under the sod. it may take a year or so, but probably "they'll be back". That's Lake Huron in the background and where we are the wave action is too strong for anyone to have a dock. I get out there in the canoe once in a while, though, and there's decent fishing right off the shore. And I do love that view. Very inviting spot with a terrific view. Lake Michigan? I did work pretty hard to scrape/rake and discard the vast majority of the old "lawn." Which was a PITA, of course, but ... yeah, you're right, it'll be the better move long-term. It's Lake Huron, off Michigan's thumb. We've got a little three-season A-frame that's just behind that lawn, old school 50-foot wide lot, long and narrow.
